Housing Boom in the Valley

MELBURNIANS have been flocking to the Latrobe Valley’s affordable housing markets since the highly publicised power station closure put the area on the map, real estate agents say.

Agents are seeing househunters from the city’s eastern suburbs increasingly putting down roots in Moe, Morwell and Churchill, copping the two-hour train commute to their Melbourne jobs to secure affordable homes.

Extra V/Line services added this year had allowed more workers to commute from Gippsland to Melbourne daily.
