The Repair Cafe at Morwell Neighbourhood House will kick off it’s first session during this years Adult Learners’ Week. Learning skills to mend items & working towards saving items from going into landfill is something to celebrate.
#lifelonglearning is done in many forms & this is one of them 🙂
If you have a skill to share please get in contact with neighbourhood house. They would love to hear from you.
If you have something that needs mending , please reply to the event page & let us know what it is so we can see if they can help.
If you are passionate about our environment & supporting ways to be more sustainable please share the event to get it out to as many people as possible
“We are excited to announce our first ever Repair Café will be held on Saturday 2nd September. We will kick off at 10am. We would love to see you bring your broken broken goods from home. Our volunteer repairers will help you learn how to fix them. While we can’t guarantee we can fix everything, our fixers are determined to give it a go.
Our café is not limited to things that need fixing. Maybe you have a story to tell or maybe you play an instrument. We would love to have you along too.
For those who may not have anything that needs ‘fixing’ but are curious to see learn more you can join us too. You can have a cuppa, speak to our talented & skillful volunteer repairers and look around the Neighbourhood House.
We would love to hear any ideas you have for us too.
The Repair Café has the following goals:
a) to bring back repairing into local society in a modern way;
b) to maintain repair expertise and to spread this knowledge;
c) to promote social cohesion in the local community by connecting neighbours from very different backgrounds and with different motives with each other through an inspiring and low-key event” Morwell Neighbourhood House
